Whether you are looking for an independent school for your child or just keen to keep up-to-date with news and thinking about private education, Attain covers all aspects.
Attain publishes news and features throughout each academic term – just like the sector, we are independent and trusted to offer impartial advice and promote informed debate.
We aim to help parents by providing useful, engaging content which supports them in all aspects of independent education.
When we started Attain nearly fifteen years ago, it was with one purpose in mind: to create a forum for intelligent debate about independent education.
Attain started small – from a kitchen table we distributed our magazine to parents at schools in the three counties of Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire.
It quickly grew into a sector-wide national publication read by Heads and teachers at all schools, both prep and senior.
In Summer 2020, we switched from print to digital and stopped producing a termly print magazine for parents.
Today, we continuously publish throughout each academic term, offering a wide range of resources – news, features and programmes – to help parents across the UK independent sector.
How do you choose features?
All articles for Attain are chosen entirely on merit: we are looking for quirky, unusual and interesting features which will help parents.
Schools cannot buy editorial or contribute to profile features.

How do schools advertise?
We are extremely grateful to all the schools who advertise with us and do ask parents to please mention Attain when contacting any school you have discovered through our news stories, features or programmes.
Without the support of our advertisers, Attain would not exist.
