Pupils will get the opportunity to find out all they want to know about STEAM with talks, projects and hands-on experiments all culminating in opening a special STEAM science exhibit at the end of the week.

The week will begin with inspirational scientist and speaker, Ian Russell, who will share his contagious delight in phenomena with the whole Junior School. Ian will present a fast moving and entertaining demonstration of simple but spectacular experiments using everyday materials to create memorial results!

Parents are joining the children throughout the week as they continue work on their science exhibits. There will be robots, virtual applications on iPads and even science under the sea!

Ffion Robinson, Head of Churcher’s College Junior School and Nursery, said: “STEAM is embedded into the core curriculum here and it’s good for pupils to see how it is connected to everything in the wider world. We want to inspire and motivate interest in these subjects. Encouraging excitement in these areas will help produce the next Albert Einstein or Steve Jobs, brilliant at science and creative thinking.”
