Oakham School | 11 Oct 2017
Two linguists in Form 4 at Oakham School have won prizes at the ‘European Challenge’, an event organised by Business Language Champions and supported by experts from various multinational businesses.

Sian Nutter was awarded a prize for best leadership qualities at the event and Bethany Davis won the prize for speaking the best French during the competition.

The event, which took place at Solihull School, was held on ‘European Day of Languages’ and challenged pupils to market a traditionally British product in a range of foreign languages to overseas buyers. Oakham's team - who combined a knowledge of French, Spanish and German - chose to promote Stilton Pizza!

Although their product choice might not have been to everyone’s taste, their marketing certainly was successful, as the team were the overall runners-up against some strong competition from a variety of schools.
