We are delighted to announce that the Science Department has been given the Platinum Science Mark Award. St Mary's Calne is now one of an elite group of just ten schools in the country to be holders of the Platinum Science Mark, and the first independent school in the UK to achieve this accolade.

The Science Mark Award is a quality standard designed to recognise and celebrate inspiring practice in secondary school science departments across the UK. Awarded at Silver, Gold and Platinum level, the year-long process requires an extensive written submission against 16 rigorous criteria and a searching accreditation visit.

Many congratulations to St Mary's Calne Head of Science, Alexandra Haydon (pictured) and all of the Science Department, on this fantastic achievement.
