Chris McGrath is qualified with BA Hons in History, a PGCE from Lancaster University and an MBA (Education) from South Bank University. He was previously Deputy Headmaster at The Oratory Prep School and Headmaster of Donhead Preparatory School. Mr McGrath succeeds Mrs Anne Farnish.
With 20 years of Headship at Donhead Preparatory School in Edge Hill, Wimbledon, the brother school to Ursuline Preparatory School, Mr McGrath arrives with huge respect, and is already known to many staff and parents in the Donhead and Ursuline Preparatory school communities.
The Ursuline sisters of the Roman Catholic Union came to Wimbledon in 1892. Such was the success of their school that it moved location a number of times until 1944, when it settled in its current location, 18 The Downs, Wimbledon. The school has enjoyed continued growth and has established itself in the Wimbledon and surrounding communities as an Independent Catholic School for girls aged 3 to 11 with a co-educational Nursery. History has brought change and growth but the underpinning values of St.Angela of Merici and the Ursuline Order have not changed.
Mr Chris McGrath, who started at Ursulne Prep this week, commented “I am delighted to be joining Ursuline Preparatory School. The school ethos will continue to reflect our commitment to the education of the heart, the mind and the soul in the certain knowledge that only through the development of all three can one truly become the best you can be, the person you were born to be.”
