Cheam Choirs sing at Winchester Cathedral

A Cathedral setting for any Choral event has to be the climax of any choir’s repertoire. At Cheam there have been concerts both at school and further afield, but our annual visit to Winchester Cathedral to sing Choral Evensong has to be the icing on the cake as far as a setting is concerned.

A Cathedral setting for any Choral event has to be the climax of any choir’s repertoire. At Cheam there have been concerts both at school and further afield, but our annual visit to Winchester Cathedral to sing Choral Evensong has to be the icing on the cake as far as a setting is concerned.

Within medieval splendour, the choir’s singing echoed around the building, uplifting the hearts of many who were present for the occasions. For a young child to sing in such a setting the occasion was awe-inspiring; for those present in the congregation, the Choir were seen and heard at their best, confident in their performance and clearly enjoying the sense of the occasion.
