13th May 2020 — Moulsford Preparatory School in Oxfordshire is delighted to announce that Edward Gardner in Year 4 has made it to the final 50 of the BBC Radio 2 500 Words competition. The competition, which started in 2011 is hugely popular and this year received over 135,000 entries, so it is a remarkable achievement to be a finalist. This year, Moulsford had a total of nine boys who were shortlisted in the final 5,000.

Edward’s story is called ‘Charlie the Hero Dog’ and is now live on the Radio 2 website, having been recorded by an actor. Edward has been asked to be available on the 12th June for the final, in whichever form that is to take place.

Last year Harry Martin from Moulsford's Year 8 made the final 50 and attended a reception at Windsor Castle. The school is delighted that Edward can now follow in his footsteps and wish him good luck in the final.

Moulsford Preparatory School (Boys 4-13) is a day and boarding school in Oxfordshire.
