8th May 2018 — It was an exciting chance to meet up again with ex-England player Georgia Lees who the girls met recently at a netball training day at Roedean College she ran.
Georgia is an ex-England player and currently playing for Surrey Storm.
Ms Farley said: "Many of our girls have never seen an 'professional' netball match live, so this was a great experience for them to develop their understanding of the game."
She added: "At 1pm we set off from Sompting Abbotts, with Annabel J, Poppy C, Ava S, Ines L, Paris P, Annabelle O, Pru T and Ellie F-S. We arrived at Surrey Sports Park, Guildford, in good time despite the heat and took our seats. The match was fast and competitive, with lots for our girls to learn about senior netball. At half time there was a shoot out competition for anyone to enter and Annabel J and Ellie F-S both scored!"
The second half saw a lot of substitutions, which was good for the girls to see, so that the whole squad got match play and experience. The final score was 70-42 to Surrey Storm.
At the end of the match the girls went off to get the players autographs and say hello to Georgia, who did remember them. The match was fast and competitive, with lots for our girls to learn about senior netball.

Ms Farley is a great inspiration and passionate about netball. As a girl, she made U16/ U18/ U21 final England trials, played New Zealand and travelled to Barbados with NW England.
She added: "It was a great day out and particularly apt following the Gold medal win by the England netball team at the commonwealth games. As an ex netball player myself, this result was unheard of from my time, and it pays tribute to the fact that although netball still has a long way to go the players are now receiving sponsorship to enable them to take their training seriously.
“Let's hope some of our girls today will be inspired to one day be playing in this calibre of netball."
