The second annual charity Christmas Tree Festival is taking place at Gresham’s

The Christmas Tree Festival has now begun at Gresham’s School, in Holt, to raise money for Holt Youth Project. The school Chapel has been filled with over forty beautiful Christmas trees, all lovingly festooned by members of the school community.

8th December 2021 — Every year group or boarding house from all three schools has decorated a tree, with the catering and support staff also joining in the fun. All of this has helped to create a special atmosphere and environment for the various Christmas celebrations, carol services and events taking place in the coming weeks.

This year, the Christmas Tree Festival is raising money for the school’s charity of the year, Holt Youth Project. The charity exists to provide a safe environment for young people to meet and socialise with the minimum of supervision, which builds their social communication skills and promotes ownership. The centre is a place where young people have opportunities that empower them to reach their goals and aspirations through various programmes and activities.

The School Chaplain, Father Jack Branford, has organised the event. He said “I am thrilled to be able to put on the festival again, following such a successful event last year. Thank you to everyone who has put a lot of hard work into the trees.”

The festival is open to visitors during the Festival Open Afternoon, which is taking place on Saturday 11th December, 1 - 4pm. All donations for the Holt Youth Project are gratefully received, and can be made through the Just Giving link:
