12th January 2022 — King’s House School is delighted to have raised a total of £7,321.50 during the Autumn Term 2021 for a range of local and national charities.

Skylarks, a local charity who support children with additional needs, is the charity pupils have chosen to support this year. Through embroidery of the Nursery smocks, cake sales, Year 7 Enterprise Fair and Christmas Jumper Day, the school has donated £4,044 to Skylarks this term. Several donations were doubled during the Big Give campaign.

The Mufti Day in October 2021 raised £1,545 for Barnardo’s, a charity who protect, support and nurture the UK’s most vulnerable children. This year’s Poppy Appeal also raised £310 for the Royal British Legion.

Collections during the Christmas Concerts and Carol Service in December raised £1,422.50, which will be split between St Mary Magdalene Church, SPEAR and the Vineyard Community. SPEAR support people experiencing homelessness in South West London, building communities in which everyone has a place to call home. Vineyard Community are dedicated to helping vulnerable individuals in Richmond overcome personal crises.

Miss Gheorghe, Charities Co-ordinator, said: “2021 was a complex year, yet we were able to commit a lot of time and energy raising money for our charity of choice, Skylarks! I would like to thank the Year 7s who managed to step in and help out with our Poppy Appeal when the charity monitors were busy with exams. The Year 8 charity monitors have helped greatly with the organisation and delivery of a few big events: the enterprise fair, the second-hand book sale and the Christmas Carol concert. I am looking forward to the Spring Term events, and have already received a number of suggestions for future events and I am always open to new and exciting ideas.”

Many thanks to everyone in the King’s House community who help the school to support charities both locally and nationally.

King's House School (Boys 3-13, Girls 3-4) is a day school in South West London.
