The U11 pupils from Bedford Girls’ School (BGS) have rounded off the school Summer Term by claiming the coveted IAPS National Rounders title.

The U11 pupils from Bedford Girls’ School (BGS) have rounded off the school Summer Term by claiming the coveted IAPS National Rounders title on Thursday 27th June.

The team, which is comprised of pupils from Years 5 and 6 travelled to Windlesham House School, ready to compete against the very best schools in the U11 age group.

During the morning session, the team displayed the talent and sporting prowess they have shown all term by claiming victories over Royal Russell School, Windlesham House School, The Elms School, Kew College and Bishopsgate School.

Their dominance on the pitch continued in the quarter-finals as they claimed victory Barrow Hills School. This meant that they then progressed to the semi-final against the 2018 champions, Witham Hall. After excellent fielding, BGS claimed victory, setting up a final against St George’s College, Weybridge.

BGS batted with purpose, proving to be very clinical and well drilled as they came out on top in a tightly fought match.

Year 5: Rhianne Noor and Poppy Whitford.

Year 6: Charlotte Brakenbury, Molly Brierley, Alice Challacombe, Esmée Challacombe, Alice Everitt, Nwando Ifeacho, Jessica Parrish, Kate Woodwood and Isabelle Wright.
