Oakham’s Hockey players are County winners for the eighth year running!

Oakham’s 1st XI have been crowned County Champions for the 8th year running, having won all of their matches at the County tournament held at the weekend.

They won convincingly against Welbeck College (7-0) and Loughborough (2-0). It was a closely contested match against local rivals Uppingham, but Oakham beat them on the final whistle with a Penalty corner. The final was against Loughborough and the girls’ attacking style did not disappoint resulting in another win (2-0).

“For our players to be crowned County Champions for the eighth year running is a strong testament to the outstanding and continuous quality of Hockey at Oakham,” says Director of Sport Mr Iain Simpson.
