Matthew was part of Middlesbrough and Hull City’s youth academy before he joined Repton School to combine studying for his A Levels with an excellent football programme. As well as captaining Repton’s successful 1st XI team, Matthew also captained the Independent Schools Football Association team for his age group.

Repton School’s Director of Football, Mr Matthew Carrington, commented: “We are so proud to see our Captain sign a professional contract at DAFC. It is hard to imagine anyone more deserving with such dedication and desire. This is another great example of how players can combine education with a football future. Good luck Matty!”

Deputy Head Pastoral, Mr John Golding, also commented: “Dunfermline are getting a young man of real quality - not just a fine footballer but a fine character: selfless, determined and hard-working. A real credit to himself, his family and Repton School.”
