Blackheath Prep Attend Music for Youth

After numerous rehearsals the children excitedly boarded the coach and headed to Sutton early on Saturday morning. It was finally time to stand in front of the audience and other participants and represent Blackheath Preparatory School.

The Chamber Choir travelled to St Andrew’s Church in Sutton on Saturday 11th March to take part in the Music for Youth Regional Festival. The choir performed ‘Didn’t My Lord Deliver Daniel?’ and a contemporary setting of ‘Love Divine’.

The standard of the singing from all the choirs was very impressive and our own children really excelled. It was heartening for them to hear such lovely comments from the judges.

We wish the Chamber Choir the best of luck for Friday 17th March when they compete in the Barnardo’s National Choral Competition at the Royal Festival Hall. We cross our fingers they can repeat their fantastic performance.
