Last week, the Senior School and Sixth Form were delighted to hear a lecture by world-renowned scientist Lord Professor Robert Winston at Ipswich High School. The talk was entitled “What Makes us Happy?”, a fitting title for pupils at a school where wellbeing and happiness is one of our main priorities. Professor Winston’s lecture appealed to the whole audience as he spoke not only about the science of happiness, but also how the arts including literature, music and art reflect human happiness, which included various snippets of classical music as illustrations.

It was a joy to hear such an interesting speaker as it was carefully illustrated with a multitude of examples which made his presentation understandable by everyone. Our pupils were very engaged and showed their appreciation for Professor Winston with a huge round of applause.
