Professor Robert Winston lectures at Repton School’s annual Science Lecture

It was a privilege to welcome Lord Robert Winston, Professor of Science and Society and Emeritus Professor of Fertility Studies at Imperial College London, to Repton School as a guest speaker at the School’s third annual Christmas Science lecture.

Professor Winston’s lecture focused on ‘What makes us happy?’ and examined how science may help us to live longer. Over 200 people including pupils, parents, staff and the local community attended the lecture in the Science Priory and were entertained by the Professor’s personal insights into human nature and our motivations for happiness.

Repton School’s Head of Science, Dr Ingleston-Orme thanked the esteemed guest and commented: “It was wonderful to be able to welcome Professor Robert Winston to the Science Priory. He gave an insightful, engaging and light hearted introduction to the world of learning, memory, happiness and even epigenetics.”
